Exterior Dimensional Signs
Exterior Dimensional Signs
Dimensional logos give distinction to your brand. Truly, these are among our favorite signs to produce. They are beautiful and long-lasting and our clients’ reactions at the end of these projects always are rewarding.
We make high-quality, intricately detailed dimensional signage from acrylic, high density polyethylene (plastic), aluminum, brass and bronze, in many depths and finishes.
Each of these materials has benefits, which we can discuss with you to find the best fit for your project and budget.
Solid Aluminum (and other metals): Outdoor logos
Aluminum lettering and logos are by far our most popular outdoor dimensional logo offering. We offer brushed, anodized (to prevent weather corrosion) and painted options.
We also offer brass, bronze, copper and stainless steel.
All of our metal letters and logos have a lifetime guarantee.
Standard thicknesses are ¼” and ½”, but others are available.
The most popular mounting style is flush-stud mount. We also offer stud-mount with spaces (to make the logo stand off the wall).
Colorcore is a layered, high-density polyethylene substrate that we carve into to reveal the core color. HDPE is popular for applications in which you never want to have to repaint the sign, or where graffiti prevention is important. Paint and adhesives DO NOT ADHERE to Colorcore.
Colorcore resists fading and makes beautiful signs.
Its limitation is that there are limited color options and in large sizes, the substrate can warp slightly in the sun. We have methods to prevent and work around this, but for some applications the product is not suitable. We can advise when this is the case. With that said, this is one of our favorite type of signs to produce. They look great and are long-lasting.
Highly recommended for golf-courses, elegant parking lot and directional signs, apartment communities, etc.
High Density Urethane
High density urethene signs are carved, dimensional, hand-painted signs.
High Density Urethane (HDU) is a rigid, naturally waterproof, polyurethane foam product made specifically for creating dimensional signs. HDU signs can mimic sandblasted signs with a carved wood-grain background or have a smooth carved look. We transitioned from sandblasting wood several years ago to producing only HDU signs, due to their durability, as well as the availability and affordability of HDU. These signs last longer than wood signs, because they resist moisture.
Our standard thickness for HDU signs is 1.5″, but it is available from .75″ to 2″ thick, as a special order. We can carve sizes up to roughly 5ft x 10ft panels.
What is the design process like?
We pride ourselves on both the quality of our work and on providing exceptional customer service. When having a job sign made, the following list will give you a good idea of how we start with an idea and finish with a sign.
- Collect information to provide a quote:
- Identify your material, acrylic, acrylic with metal, aluminum or other metal.
- Identify mounting style.
- Identify where the sign will be mounted, type of surface and area of space available.
- Provide ready to print artwork, or send relevant content (logo, text and info) to our design team.
- Identify deadline.
- With the above information we can provide a quote.
- Approve quote and place a 50% deposit.
- Production team will conduct a site survey to confirm installation plans.
- Design team will email a proof.
- Proof approval puts sign into production.
- Client will be called to schedule installation.
- Balance due at time of installation.
What is the turnaround time?
Dimensional logos take between 3 and 6 weeks for production generally, although that can vary based on complexity of the logo and installation. Simple projects can take less time. Projects without installation can be shipped or picked up by client on a shorter schedule as well.
How are reorders handled?
To move your re-order through our system quickly, email email@example.com the prior proof sheet or the job order/invoice number. Indicate you are looking for an exact re-order and you would like to bypass the proof. This will send your order directly to production!
What factors go into the cost of a sign?
Our pricing depends on a number of factors.. The substrate, media type, creativity of the design, and complexity of the assembly.
