Business Relocation Signage: How Magnolia Grove Design & Cabinetry Launched Its New Wilmington Showroom

Before customers could walk through the door of Magnolia Grove Design & Cabinetry’s new location, they first had to know where to find it.

That is where business relocation signage comes in. When your business moves, you need a clear way to show people where you are going, let them know what is changing, and make sure you stay visible while everything is in transition.

For Magnolia Grove, the move to their new Wilmington space also included a full rebrand with a new name, logo, and color palette, along with the launch of a showroom designed to showcase their work. We worked alongside their team to help make sure that from the moment they announced the move to the day they opened their new doors; their customers always knew exactly where to go.

Supporting the Transition from the Old Location

The first step was introducing Magnolia Grove’s new brand in a way that customers would immediately recognize.

We removed the existing illuminated sign at their previous location and installed a banner in its place featuring the new name and branding. Door graphics were also updated so that anyone visiting the space could immediately see the new logo, colors, and website.

At the same time, we helped Magnolia Grove start building visibility beyond their physical location. We wrapped a box truck and two vans with the updated branding so they could begin getting exposure around Wilmington while the move was still in progress.

Together, these pieces helped carry the new brand through the transition and kept it visible well before the new showroom was ready.

Building Awareness Before the New Showroom Opened

As the project moved forward, the focus shifted to the new location and how to start building awareness before the showroom officially opened.

We installed a “New Home Of” banner while construction was underway and produced yard signs to build awareness around town. Once the monument sign was installed but the business wasn’t open yet, we added a “Coming Soon” sign beside it to set expectations for anyone passing by. During that same time, certain areas of the property had to be marked as protected tree zones, so we produced signage to designate those areas, which also helped signal that something new was taking shape.

Together, these pieces helped create visibility while making it clear that the new location wasn’t open yet and the old location was still fully operational.

Establishing the New Location with Permanent Signage

Once Magnolia Grove was ready to open, the next step was making the new location easy to find and recognize.

The centerpiece of that effort was a custom monument sign designed to be both highly visible and reflective of the new brand. We built it using a custom aluminum frame with double-sided HDU panels, which is a durable material often used for carved and dimensional signage, along with an aluminum inset featuring the magnolia flower logo. Address numbers were incorporated on the side so the location would be easy to identify from the road.

In addition to the monument sign, we installed door graphics with hours and contact information, along with traffic and parking signage to support the flow of the property. As the showroom officially opened, “Now Open” signage was added beside the monument sign to reinforce that the move was complete.

Together, these elements made it easy for customers to find the new location and walk in knowing they were exactly where they needed to be.

Behind the Scenes: Matching a New Brand Perfectly

Because Magnolia Grove was introducing a new brand at the same time they were relocating, consistency across their signage mattered more than usual.

During the transition, customers were seeing their brand in multiple places at once, at the old location, on the road through their vehicles, and at the new location as it was coming together. Everything needed to look the same so people could easily recognize it.

To make that happen, we spent time upfront printing samples, reviewing them in person, and making adjustments until everything felt right. We also made sure the painted elements and printed vinyl graphics worked well together once everything was installed.

When you’re moving locations and rolling out a new brand at the same time, those details help make the transition feel clear and consistent instead of confusing.

Why Local Collaboration Made the Process Easier

Relocating a business comes with a lot of moving parts, and that's why it's so important to work with a local signage partner.

Throughout the project, Magnolia Grove was able to stop by, look at color samples, check progress, and see pieces like the monument sign while they were still in production. That made it easier to make decisions along the way and avoid surprises at the end.

We were also able to move quickly when something new came up, whether that was additional yard signs, temporary messaging, or updates tied to the timing of the opening.

From the first steps at the old location to the final “Now Open” signage, this project shows how having the right signage in place at the right time can make a move feel a lot more manageable.
