About Port City Signs & Graphics
We live by a simple mission: Impeccable service, and delivering beautiful, clear durable signs, commercial art and vehicle wraps.
Each member of our professional team has years — in some cases decades — of experience and knowledge in their trade, whether they are working with us in customer service and estimating, design and project management or production and installation.
The story of Port City Signs & Graphics Inc. starts during the post-WWII boom. We are Wilmington’s oldest sign company, begun in 1948 by Robert Barefoot as Port City Signs, an artisan sign-painting operation. Barefoot passed the reigns to his protégé Fred Maurer, who grew up in the sign-painting business and continued to develop our tradition of solid customer service.
In 2008, the reins passed to Sabrina Davis and a new chapter began. The storied company moved from its Castle Street location to its current location on Capital Drive.
With the change came the introduction of computers and digital printing to the business. This necessitated a name change. Port City Signs became Port City Signs & Graphics Inc., a name which reflected the conversion to wide-format digital printing and the expansion in product offerings.
Our familiarity and understanding of our community and the companies that operate here allow us to uniquely serve our clients’ needs. Our staff’s experience, knowledge and sheer talent keep us operating at the cutting edge of our industry. We invite you to visit our showroom and meet our team.
